Saving regularly should become a priority for Cypriots

In light of the Worlds Savings Day on 31st October, our GM, Sales Division, Minas Mettas, shared his thoughts on the importance of this day, in an interview given to Brief.

The Worlds Savings Day is a reminder for people to rethink their financial planning/saving habits as well as to appreciate the value of long-term savings. Saving regularly is the first step to achieve financial wellbeing, as even the smallest amount of money could potentially have a great impact in future financial prosperity.

In this context, Minas Mettas, spoke to Brief about the importance of the day, highlighting the fact that Cypriots do not save enough which is also eminent through the relevant statistics. More specifically, in Cyprus within 2021, household average savings was 11%, as opposed to the European Union’s average that was 17.5%. In his interview, Minas also talked about higher yielding options for depositors, i.e. Money Market Funds.
